Sex, lies and mobile phones

It might not be the trend he'll be most proud of starting, but ever since revelations of David Beckham's alleged text sex sessions came to light, we've been obsessed. Ten women from the My Affair message board reveal how mobile phones played a part in their secret liaisons

'Mobile phones are the source of all evil! Two-and-a-half years ago I had to call my OM (Other Man) on business. I didn't really know him then. About six months later I had to call him again and realised by the way he answered that he had saved my number (we had met and chatted in the interim). Six months later he started to text me and then we were having an affair. It would never have happened without a mobile. We communicate by that all the time.'

'I am on a contract but you can phone your network provider and ask to have itemised billing removed. It still shows the number of texts you have sent (hundreds) but not to which number. My mobile is always on my person... I would need therapy if I lost it! Though I did nearly need therapy when I accidentally dropped it in the bath whilst texting my OM... Frazzled it completely... One of the downsides of texting secretly... I tell you I had a new mobile faster than you can imagine, now I don't text in bath.'

'Mobiles play a big part in my affair, we're texting each other all the time. I'm on PAYG (Pay As You Go) so it's not a problem for me. I just have to remember to keep my phone on vibrate only when my H (Husband) is around! Also emails are important. I have an email account my H knows nothing about, so we can chat easily.'

'My EMA (Extra Marital Affair) is over now but texts were our only way of communicating outside working hours. I had a contract phone but the contract expired the week before I started seeing my MM (Married Man) - fate or what!! - and I just kept it as a PAYG so I didn't get a bill.
