Is he cheating on me?

by Susan Quilliam

question
I recently visited my boyfriend for a weekend. While he was at work, I turned on his computer to play a game and I saw he had some pictures I had sent him. I was touched by this, and decided to see which other ones he'd kept. To my horror I found four pictures of other women, dated from earlier this year. I thought our relationship was strong but now I'm not sure I can trust him. He always denies talking to other women on the net saying that he doesn't have time, but I'm really hurt that he has these pictures. Should I confront him or just wait to see what happens?

answer
You have to talk this through with your boyfriend. If you don't clear the air, you'll always wonder if he is being unfaithful - and your suspicions will eat away at your relationship. Recent photos of other women are a worrying sign. It may be that your long-distance relationship gives him the time and the inclination to play around on the web.

Don't confront him though. Try to talk things through calmly. After all, as you say, up to now you've believed that your relationship was strong - and you may still be right. Give him the benefit of the doubt until proved otherwise.

Next time you spend the weekend together, open the conversation again, admit you were prying - then have a heart to heart. Be honest with him, and ask him to be honest with you. You may not like what you hear, but at least you will know what's really going on.
