Just a jealous guy
Dear Sally Ann, My boyfriend has always been the jealous type, so I never really introduced him to my male friends. However, the other day a gay male friend stayed over while my boyfriend was away on a business trip. He came home early and caught me hugging my friend. He immediately walked out and won't listen to the explanation. I'm so scared of losing him - I just don't know how to get him to listen to me anymore.
Isabella
Dear Isabella,
You have a jealous boyfriend and you think the best way of handling that is by not introducing him to your male friends and sneaking one of them into your home the minute his back is turned. Oh boy. It doesn't look good, does it?
I don't quite understand how your boyfriend happened to find you in a clinch with a gay man, but if that's true you are going to have to explain it to him. Why don't you write him a letter? Start by repeating exactly what you have told me and then add something about how you didn't know how to handle his possessiveness so you did everything wrong. Tell him you would like to introduce him to your male friends so that he can see for himself that you have nothing to hide. If he won't let you have any male friends, then he should tell you so. In that case, you may decide that he's not the right boyfriend for you anyway.
