How work ruined my relationships
I went through a phase of feeling severely burdened and unhappy at work and couldn't stop moaning about it. My boyfriend of four years felt that with the way things were going, he didn't see us having a future together. I have since sorted out my work life and feel much happier. I still speak to my ex and we are still in love. Should I approach him with the hope of getting back together?
When you have been very unhappy in your job, it is difficult for your partner to distinguish between that and you feeling unhappy with him. You have both had a burden to labour under and it must have been hard for both of you to see the future when the present was so bleak. But if that's over with and you are still on friendly and affectionate terms, it's entirely probable that you will get back together again. The only question is how?
It's good that you're being cautious. Your boyfriend needs a breathing space to become reacquainted with you as a happy, contented person. Why don't you stay in contact with him and create the right environment for him to make the first approach? It's always nice for men to feel like it's their idea, all you need to do is calmly lay the ground work.
