What his Easter egg reveals about him
A recent survey by DatingDirect.com the UK's number one online dating agency has revealed that the yearly habit of buying those important Easter treats for our 'special someone's' uncover more about us than just our taste in chocolateThis Easter, take a closer look at your partner's eggs; are they sweet and soft-centred or hollow and empty? 'You can tell a lot more about your partner's personality by the gifts they buy you, and Easter eggs are certainly no exception,' says Relationship Doctor Nishka Singh. 'Your partner's choice of chocolate egg will reveal more than just their bank balance and their particular taste in chocolate. A closer look will give you deeper insight into their relationship characteristics and personality traits.'
Traditional vs expensive and flashy
According to the survey, over 29 per cent of the 2,500 people polled opted for a 'traditional milk chocolate egg' when it came to buying an Easter gift for their other half. However, the more flamboyant and extravagant consumers amongst us came close behind the old traditionalists, with 23 per cent of those polled selecting an 'expensive egg' from deluxe chocolate makers - reassuring us that a large proportion of consumers are still prepared to 'splash the cash' in order to win the heart of their loved one this Easter.
What came first, the man or the egg?
The 'traditional egg' was the most popular choice amongst men, with over 32 per cent opting for the 'safer option', and according to Singh, 'these men can be seen as 'trustworthy', 'traditional' and 'consistent' lovers.' Could these reliable men be labelled boring and predictable? Not according to over 68 per cent of women who claim to like their men just the way they like their eggs, reliable and familiar!
The poll also revealed that over a quarter of men are planning on purchasing an 'expensive egg' this Easter. In this case you may find yourself looking into the eyes of a flashy partner with flamboyant tendencies and expensive taste, but could his eggs be hiding insecurities? Well, perhaps, but the good news is that these extravagant shoppers also reveal a good sense of taste and style.
A totally organic experience?
Eighteen per cent of those polled revealed they would choose an 'organic egg' this year over an expensive or traditional choice, claiming they would rather opt for the purer alternatives over an expensive or traditional picking. According to Singh 'If your partner opts for the organic choice this Easter, you could well be in the arms of a 'faithful' and 'considerate' lover who is more likely to be aware of the feelings of others around them.'
A final note on eggs and size
Interestingly, only one per cent of women opted for the small egg as their choice of chocolate treats, compared to nine per cent of men, reinforcing the fact that for women, size really does matter.
