Baring it all
Dear Patti
This may sound weird, but I'd really like to permanently remove all of my pubic hair. I have done it on a temporary basis many times. My husband finds it a real turn-on, and I find it more comfortable. I've tried nearly every form of temporary hair removal shaving, depilatories and so on but would like to just get rid of my hair once and for all. I can't afford professional electrolysis, and I'm not sure they would even do that not to mention the fact that it would be very embarrassing for a stranger to work on me down there. Any suggestions?

Many women find that cutting, shaving or permanently removing their pubic hair can be a turn-on for themselves and their lovers. There are many reasons women or men desire this part of the female's body bald, especially for the feel of bare skin during lovemaking. My male and female clients have asked me repeatedly for guidance about removing hair from that region and for suggestions for minimising both the pain and the cost.
The best options depend on what result you seek. Some women prefer shaving and/or having their lovers shave them, as an erotic ritual. Others would like to have that region cleared of hair for ever. Since your goal is to get rid of your hair for good, without resorting to electrolysis, you don't have many choices beyond those you've tried. Without permanently destroying the hair follicle, hair will always grow back.
There is a new semi-permanent treatment you might investigate, however: laser hair removal. It doesn't have the permanent impact of electrolysis (which truly destroys the hair follicles and prevents future regrowth), but the results last for many weeks. While slightly cheaper than electrolysis, it is also costly and takes time. Also, like electrolysis, it requires exposing this most private part to a stranger with a needle. There are practitioners who will bargain for a long-term commitment to do either electrolysis or laser treatment at a reduced fee; they are usually quite comfortable and skilled in the interpersonal aspects of their work with clients. Interview several in your area on the phone to find a trustworthy candidate.
