Ingredients
2 120g tins of sardines in tomato sauce - 1 400g tin chopped peeled plum tomatoes, drained
- 2 farmhouse-style bread rolls
- 2 cloves crushed garlic
- 1 finely chopped red onion
- Large handful finely chopped fresh basil
- 1 tbsp olive oil

- Place the plum tomatoes, red onion, garlic, basil and olive oil in a large bowl, mix thoroughly and season with salt and pepper.
- Cut the rolls in half and place in a hot oven at 180C/350F/gas mark 4 for 5 or so minutes.
- Remove the rolls from the oven and spoon the mixture over the top of each roll.
- Place the sardine few minutes. Serve warm.
