Seafood Week 1-8 October 2004

Nutrition experts say we should be eating at least two portions of fish every week, at least one of which should be oil-rich - such as mackerel or herring. The health benefits of seafood are well documented, providing an important source of protein, vitamins, minerals and Omega 3 fatty acids. Fish oils can provide protection against some cancers, boost brainpower, benefit eczema and help lower blood cholesterol levels.

The fourth annual Seafood Week promotes the eating of seafood for your health, and celebrity chefs including Rick Stein and Gordon Ramsay have been involved in the past. This year, Antony Worrall Thompson is taking part in helping to promoting seafood.
