SHOCK! Women hate being hairy!

If you're no stranger to oestrogen you will know that it's perfectly possible to talk to your mother on the phone, make a sandwich and apply mascara while giving your man a saucy look. And we're such naturals at this stuff that it doesn't even occur to us that we're multi-tasking
The results of hair removal experts Nair's survey of iVillage.co.uk users has simply, and resoundingly proven the point that when it comes to juggling we're geniuses, and will do virtually anything to save precious time - especially in the morning.
For example, a quarter of women who replied said that they brush their teeth in the shower, which begs the question: Do they spit, or do they dribble?
One in four said that they do their nails while wearing a face mask, which is good work, and 30 per cent said they pluck their eyebrows while using hair removal products elsewhere on their bodies - with that sort of rigour, their follicles don't stand a chance.

The survey also tells us that due to the recession seven out of ten women are doing more beauty treatments at home.
I'm with them on that one, and surprisingly I've found this liberating instead of a chore - traipsing off to the salon, finding somewhere to park, emptying my bank account and struggling home, walking like a crab covered in goo is a lot less appealing now that I can quickly and easily do all my deforestation in the privacy and comfort of my own flat.

It should be no surprise that Nair have discovered that being hairy makes us horribly self-conscious. Even though shorts are the coolest thing on the planet cool right now, more than half the women surveyed said that if they haven't dealt with their body hair they won't be seen dead in them.
Over 20 per cent said that untended hairy bits would drastically hamper their love loves and they would refuse sex until everything has been tidied up - that's one hell of an effective contraceptive.
Ten per cent said they wouldn't even go shopping if they felt a bit hirsute, and one woman even said that being hairy stopped her thinking straight.
Forty three per cent of the women who responded said that it was most important to keep their underarms hair-free, while nearly a quarter thought lower leg smoothness was vital. One fabulous result of the Nair survey was when women were asked who they thought had the best legs, the winners by a mile were Beyonce Knowles and Kelly Brook - both proper women, with proper women's bodies. Yay!
Sadly, of all the women who filled out the survey nearly half of them said they spend two whole hours a month doing things they didn't want to do.
But they were all quick with ideas of what they would do if they had more time on their hands - 32 per cent would exercise more, 20 per cent would see friends or indulge their hobbies, an industrious 17 per cent said they would learn a new skill, while a savvy 10 per cent would organise their finances.
Hats off to those who said they would eat more chocolate, have more sex and even try more vegetables. Click here to find out how you could save yourself precious time on your beauty routine.
