Sirloin Steaks with a Mushroom and Garlic Crust

Ingredients

  • 2 sirloin steaks
  • 10g unsalted butter
  • 50g button mushrooms, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 25g breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp mixed fresh herbs
  • 1 tbsp English mustard
  • pinch each of salt and ground black pepper
  • sauteed potatoes and steamed vegetables, to serve
Serves: 4 Preparation: 10 Cook Time: 20 Total Time: 30min whats this
 

Directions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high and grill the steak on one side for between and minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, for the crust, heat the butter in a saucepan over a medium heat. Fry the mushrooms and garlic for minutes. Remove from the heat and spoon into a bowl. Add the remaining ingredients to the bowl and mix well, seasoning to taste.
  3. Remove the steak from the grill, turn over and press the crust mixture on top. Return to the grill and cook for between and minutes.
  4. Serve with potatoes sauteed in fresh herbs, garlic and olive oil and a selection of steamed vegetables.
