Spring fashion focus
It's been a long winter, so now's the perfect time to start thinking ahead to a new season of brighter fashion. Spring/Summer 2010 trends promise to pop, from new bolder than ever prints to double denim and underwear on the outside (we kid you not), it's time to shed the thermals, remove the tights from beneath the jeans and get back on the fashion wagon. Peggy Nuttall shows you how
Bold prints
Up and coming British designer Peter Pilotto has been championing gutsy prints at Fashion Week, and this is a trend you can have real fun with on the highstreet. Take it to the extreme with mis-matched patterns and clashing colours, but we think you can make even more of a statement by pairing a bold print piece with muted blacks and greys and some fun gold accessories.

Double denim
Dubbed by Vogue as the new way to wear denim, this trend is all about texture. Pair stone wash jeans with a light denim shirt, match rips with patchwork, or go all out with an all in one.

Flesh it out
Feminine shades of pink have been de rigeur for a while now, and spring is no exception. The high street has no shortage of powedery girly pinks, but for a fresh take on the trend, go for the more muted fleshier tones.

A new take on fringe
Fringing has been big news for fashionistas lately, but this season is less twenties flapper and more punk-meets-cowboy. Pair the waistcoat with a baggy white tee, black leggings and ballet pumps for a casual spring look.

Mid heels
Toe-crippled stiletto wearers across the country have a big cause for celebration with this new trend to emerge from the catwalks; cue the mid-heel - the once resident of Clarks and favourite for practical dressers only, now you can clippity clop to work in style and comfort. Hurrah!

All-in-ones
They tip-toed tentatively onto the scene in dark muted tones and strictly utility-only styles, but now there's no stopping these jumpy little numbers. Thanks to their popularity the highstreet now offering a really exciting array of jump suits and play suits for us to hop into for spring and summer. Statement necklaces
We like this one because it's such an easy and effective way of jazzing up an outfit, and you can be as creative as you like. Whether it's tribal inspired or shiny and blinging, there's really only one rule with this trend: keep them big and bold.
