Strawberry and Almond Trifle

A deliciously rich trifle from iVillager theyorkshiredragon
 

Ingredients

  • 125g amaretti biscuits, crushed
  • 1 tbsp kirsch or medium sherry
  • 227g strawberries
  • 142ml double cream
  • 125g mascarpone cheese
  • 125g custard (canned will do)
  • toasted flaked almonds to decorate (optional)

Directions

  1. Place the crushed amaretti in the bottom of your trifle dish and spoon over the kirch or sherry.
  2. Wash and halve the strawberries, and tip over the biscuits.
  3. Lightly whip the cream and fold in the mascarpone cheese and custard.
  4. Spoon the cream mixture over the strawberries and sprinkle with toasted flaked almonds, if desired.
  5. Refridgerate for a few hours to let the flavours mingle before serving.
