Sunday roast in Clifton
The delights of Bristol for me always include the suspension bridge and it's beautiful view so if at anytime I can incorporate that with food then - job done!
Today on our one day off from singing and dancing our arses off (sorry for the blasphemy but I need to make a point) in the UK tour of Legally Blonde we decided that on a Sunday, what was the thing we all wanted?? Of course, a good roast dinner! Now, having lived here in Bristol a few years ago, I do know my way around so I made the reservation at the White Lion (part of the Avon Gorge Hotel, Sion Hill, Clifton).

We sat outside with our refreshing cider (when in Rome love...), waiting merely moments for our food to appear in front of us...hot and delicious! It really was! The rest of the table enjoyed the beef while I went for the lamb. It was gorgeous! So tasty and the views were breath taking as you can imagine! The Clifton suspension bridge!
We asked for extra gravy, etc, time and time again and non of the young staff batted an eyelid. It's refreshing to see that I think, I'm so sick of 'kids' rolling their eyes at me if I ask for a clean fork! Not here, they're happy to help.

After we'd finished, we moved down to tiny pub on the same street, called The Portcullis. Cool music, pokey stairs and a very interesting offering of drinks made this place one of the most fascinating little places I've been in a while! A couple of the boys from the show tried a wheat beer called 'Blue Moon', which you are served with a rather large slice of orange!
I adored this place! It was like Clifton's best kept secret with a slice of orange to sweeten the experience.
All in all a lovely day was had by all! (and not too expensive, considering that Clifton is the 'It' area of Bristol!)
