    The Frangipani Tree, Sri Lanka

The Frangipani Tree is a modern minimalist hotel which opened just a few years ago. You are encouraged to switch off your phone, kick off your shoes and pick up a book and lounge by the pool. To help, there's no TV and the raging waves of the Indian Ocean crash in just a few metres from the Hawksbill, Leatherback, Loggerhead and Olive Ridley suites named after the turtles who head back to this beach every year to lay their eggs.

Rooms from £162 per night based on two people sharing a suite, including breakfast. www.i-escape.com/thefrangipanitree.php

Yes, you are right. Forgot to mention.Days At Sea is a must for a South Africa travel - my tip: 1 week Cape Town- flight to Durban- 1 week game lodge like Phinda or Mkuze Falls north of Durban (easy drive)- 1 week Days At Sea -south of Durban (easy drive). You cannot do better!
