There will be fireworks!
I met Lee Smith from 1st Galaxy Fireworks yesterday evening. He popped round the house for an assessment because, you’ve guessed it - I’m having a firework display at the reception! I am over the moon, jumping over rainbows deliriously happy about this decision. Vinnie and I decided to have the fireworks as part of our grand finale and to have the dazzling display just as we leave for our (second!) first night hotel. Luckily we are in really remote countryside and so no one will hear the noise or complain of it. I might decide to do it in between dancing before the slow numbers come up and fill the dance floor - not that I am planning on having a lot of slow numbers because I want the party - like the fireworks display - to go with a bang! 1st Galaxy is a small family based fireworks company in Nottingham. It was founded by Lee and is one of the few companies in the UK which also manufactures fireworks as well as selling them and organising live fireworks displays for weddings.
The company offers four all inclusive specialist wedding displays including the Confetti Champagne, Diamond and Platinum display plus a unique musical firework display which we are opting for - all choreographed and tailored to suit individual budgets. With 81per cent of wedding guests saying entertainment is the aspect they remember most at weddings, 1st Galaxy launched a range of bespoke wedding fireworks offering a unique and special way to end celebrations, ensuring an added elegance and sparkle to the big day.
Lee has expertise in providing displays for all sorts of events, including wedding fireworks, corporate events, parties and celebrations. He also supplies high quality display fireworks through the 1st Galaxy retail shop and mail order. Lee trains prospective firers (those who work in the firework industry) in their careers, because of his level of expertise and the amazing shows he puts on, so I know I am in safe hands.
One of the most extremely popular fireworks packages on the 1st Galaxy website is the unique ‘Wedding Cake’ - a large diameter single ignition cake which is simply placed on the ground and lit by anyone of your guests. This idea came out of a demand from brides to have a DIY fireworks display that was inexpensive and didn’t require supervision but still delighted guests. With the Wedding Cake all the wedding party needs to do is stand back and enjoy a fully choreographed fireworks display as it is all compact and sequenced within the package.
The Ultimate Finale is a huge 184 shot Single Ignition Cake that lasts nearly three minutes and offers a superb array of spectacular effects from a single fuse. Alternatively, the Sky Gold package offers Green Falling Leaves, large Brocade Willows and a Finale of Timed rain and Spring Flower, offering a great backdrop to any wedding.
The 1st Galaxy website also features other products which could help you create a wonderful grand finale such as the indoor Table Bomb which is placed on guests’ tables and goes with a light bang spilling out glitter, novelties and flutter confetti - a cool and unusual way to get the reception ended!
Lee says the company has a massive catalogue of songs for brides to choose from if they are having difficulties coming up with a soundtrack to set the display off to. Most of the time a 15 minute display will incorporate about three to five songs.
I asked Lee about the wedding packages and he told me one of the key aspects of the show is the vast array of outstanding colours they have developed for brides. There are lots of colour changing comets and rockets too and most aren’t that noisy in case you decide to have your wedding reception and firework display in a more built up area.
Lee has said he wants to produce a mind-blowing show for Vinnie and me, and that he’s going to the drawing board with his dedicated team to come up with the perfect sequence for us and one which matches to our music. I’m so excited as I want something so dramatic, passionate and romantic I will defy any of my guests not to be moved! I think it will also unite the guests too while they participate in something truly show-stopping and magical.
Now I’ve just got to keep my fingers and toes crossed for a good weather forecast!
Lee is currently offering discounted rates for brides booking fireworks packages with 1st Galaxy and also for anyone wishing to enrol on the firework training course. You can contact 1st Galaxy Fireworks on 0870 4430210 or via their website at www.galaxy-fireworks.co.uk.
