Visit the set of Harry Potter

The largest college in Oxford, Christ Church is the only college in the world with a cathedral within its walls.

Younger visitors may recognise Christ Church as the setting for 'Hogwarts' in the Harry Potter films, and the great hall, quadrangles, the cathedral and grand staircase provided Lewis Carroll with inspiration to write Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Philip Pullman also chose Oxford as the backdrop to His Dark Materials trilogy.

    Other Harry Potter locations

New College's cloisters feature in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire when Malfoy is turned into a ferret after taunting Harry. The Bodleian Library was transformed into the Hogwart's Infirmary.
