1 twist fresh orange zest
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp brandy
2 tsp Cointreau (or any other orange liqueur)
Champagne or Sparkling White Wine
Pare a twist of fresh orange zest into a chilled champagne glass.
Add the lemon juice, brandy and orange liqueur and swirl together.
Top up with chilled champagne or sparkling white wine and serve

1kg strawberries
8 tbsp sugar
3 bottles cider, chilled
1 bottle pink Champagne, chilled
2 tbsp strawberry sherbet
ice
Slice the strawberries into a jug or bowl (one that can fit into your fridge).
Sprinkle over the sugar, pour in bottle of cider and chill for a few hours.
When chilled, pour the strawberries and cider into a large punch bowl filled with ice, and add the rest of the cider and the champagne.
Sprinkle the sherbert over the top to give it a volcano-like fizz.

1 litre pineapple juice
50ml Archers peach schnapps
1 litre sparkling white grape juice (such as Schloer's)
1 lemon, sliced
1 handful mint sprigs
Ice
In a large jug or serving bowl, mix the pineapple juice and Archers well (otherwise whoever gets the last glass gets a shock).
Stir in the sparkling grape juice.
Add the lemon slices and mint sprigs.
To serve, half fill a glass with ice and top up with the punch.
Easy Peasy Tropical Punch

1 litre carton pineapple juice
1 litre carton grapefruit juice
ice
1 orange, sliced
1 star fruit, sliced
Mix the juices and ice cubes together in a punch bowl.
Float slices of orange on top
To serve, decorate the rim of your glasses with the slices of star fruit and pour in the punch.

1 measure fresh orange juice, chilled
2 measures champagne, chilled
1 dash grenadine (optional)
(Grenadine is a concentrated, blood-red syrup made from pomegranate juice)
Simply pour the orange juice and champagne into a frosted glass. Add a dash of Grenadine if desired.
Bloody Mary

1 tsp thick horseradish sauce (optional)
1 handful ice cubes (or frozen cherry tomatoes)
1 shot vodka
1 squeeze lemon juice
100ml tomato juice
4-5 dashes Worcestershire sauce
2-3 drops Tabasco sauce
1 slug medium sherry
Freshly-ground black pepper to taste
1 celery stick
Spoon the horseradish (if desired) into a hi-ball glass and throw the ice (or frozen cherry tomatoes) on top.
Pour in the vodka, squeeze in some lemon juice and top up with the tomato juice.
Season with the Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco and stir.
Pour in the sherry (over the back of a spoon), grind over some black pepper, add the celery stick and serve with a couple of paracetamol.
Near the end of the drink, take care not to swallow all the horseradish sauce at the bottom of the glass (you don't want to bring the whole lot up again).
Eyeball Martini

1 fresh radish per drink
1 stuffed green olive
5 parts gin
1 part dry vermouth
Using a small knife, carve the radish into the shape of an eyeball. Bore a hole big enough to take the stuffed olive. For an authentic look, leave some streaks of red skin coming from the hole. This will give the impression of a bloodshot eye.
Stir the gin and vermouth in a mixing glass and strain into a martini cocktail glass. Drop in the blood-shot eyeball.

1 measure (50ml) premium vodka
2 tsp fresh lychee juice
ice
1 lychee, peeled and stoned
Shake together the vodka, lychee juice and ice and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with the peeled lychee.

Sake (Hokusetsu, honjozo-grade)
Vodka
Sliced gari (pickled ginger)
Cucumber, thinly sliced for garnish
Mix equal parts of sake and vodka with the gari in a shaker filled with ice, shake and pour into cocktail glasses. Garnish with cucumber.

2 shots mezcal or tequila
2 lime quarters

Two shot glasses
Fill the shot glasses with mezcal or tequila.
Rub the cut side of the lime on to your friend's neck, then sprinkle over a little salt. Allow them to do the same to you.
Lick the salt off each other's necks simultaneously, shoot the tequila in one go, then bite into the lime and suck the juice. Repeat.

1 tsp sugar
4 sprigs mint
Juice of 1 lime
Ice
1 measure light Havana rum
Soda water or lemonade
Muddle the sugar and sprigs of mint together in a tall hi-ball glass. Add the ice, squeeze in the lime juice, and pour in the rum and soda. Stir and garnish with the remaining mint.

crushed ice
1 measure light Havana rum
1 tbsp sugar syrup
juice of 2 limes
Pour everything into a cocktail shaker. Thrash vigorously and pour into a cocktail glass.
Long Island Iced Tea

1 measure gin
1 measure light rum
1 measure tequila
1 measure triple Sec
1 measure vodka
2 measures fresh lemon juice
1 tsp sugar
cola
lemon wedge
Shake together all the ingredients except the cola and lime wedge. Pour into a chilled Collins glass (any tall glass will do) with ice, pour over the coke, stir gently and top with the lime wedge.

1 measure triple sec (or Cointreau)
1 measure lime juice
1 measure cranberry juice

strip of lime peel
Shake together all the ingredients except the lime. Strain into a Martini glass and garnish with the lime.

One at a time, pour slowly (in the order given) into a large shot glass. Shoot.
Mint Julep

1 part <a href="http://www.ivillage.co.uk/food/tools/recipefinder/display_recipe/0,10193,6209,00.html?">simple syrup</a> (or 1 tsp sugar dissolved in 2 tsp water)

2-3 parts bourbon (depending on taste)
Muddle the mint and simple syrup in a glass or cocktail shaker. Add the ice and bourbon and stir gently. Strain into a cocktail glass (or preferably a silver mint julep cup) filled with ice and garnish with more fresh mint sprigs.
<p>You can also sugar the rim of the glass before adding the cocktail: wet the rim with water or lemon juice and dip it in a saucer of sugar.
The Big Brother Bacardi Cocktail
50ml Bacardi rum
1 heaped teaspoon strawberry jam
50ml apple juice
1 in length of cucumber, diced
lemonade
Place cucumber and jam in bottom of glass and muddle with rolling pin
Add Bacardi rum and apple juice with a scoop of ice and mix well with a spoon (or shake in a shaker if you have one)
Absolut Hunk Vodka Martini
50ml Absolut Vanilia
10ml gomme (sugar) syrup
10ml fresh lime juice
splash of pineapple juice
Pour Absolut Vanilia over ice in a shaker
Add gomme (sugar) syrup, fresh lime juice and a splash of pineapple juice
Close the shaker, shake all the ingredients together. Then pour out into a Martini glass.

40ml/1 1/2 fl oz Jameson Irish Whiskey
40ml/1 1/2 fl oz Amaretto
15ml/ 1/2 fl oz Cr&egrave;me de Fraise
dash maraschino liqueur/cherry juice
150ml/5 fl oz pineapple juice
cherry or strawberry, to garnish
Fill high ball glass with ice cubes. Pour all ingredients into a shaker, add ice to the top and shake. Strain the liquid into a highball glass. Garnish with a cherry and a strawberry.

100ml/4fl oz Jameson Irish Whiskey
30ml/1 fl oz fresh lime juice
dash gomme syrup
dash ginger cordial
pinch of cinnamon
4 fresh strawberries, diced, plus 1 more for each garnish
Fill a highball glass three-quarters of the way with crushed ice.
Put in four diced strawberries, add the remaining ingredients and stir with a long-handled spoon.

100ml/4fl oz Jameson Irish Whiskey
4 tsp brown sugar
30ml/1 fl oz Apricot brandy
8 to 10 dried apricots
orange zest, to garnish
Pour the Jameson into snifter glasses - this is a bulbous glass traditionally used for drinking whiskey.
Add the sugar.
Heat the liquid in the glass whilst adding the brandy and apricots.

2 bottles medium or full-bodied red wine (Bulgarian Cabernet Sauvignon is ideal)
1.5 litres water
1 orange, studded with 10 cloves
2 oranges and 2 lemons, sliced
6 tbsp sugar or honey
5cm cinnamon stick
2 tsp finely grated fresh root ginger
2 tbsp fruit liqueur such as Cointreau, Grand Marnier, Calvados or cherry brandy
Mix all the ingredients together in a slow cooker or a large saucepan. Heat very gently for about minutes. Do not boil, or you will boil off the alcohol.
Stir gently to ensure that the sugar or honey has dissolved.

1/2 fresh Florida pink grapefruit
2 spoons Demerara sugar
2 shots Bombay Sapphire gin (or equivalent)
Mash half a pink grapefruit in the bottom of a tall glass. Add two spoons of Demerara sugar, the gin and ice.

6 fl. oz Florida pink grapefruit juice
1 slice of fresh Florida grapefruit
Put some ice in a cocktail shaker. Pour in the vodka and grapefruit juice and mix well.
Empty the contents into a martini glass rimmed with sugar.

40ml white rum
20ml aperol
15ml cointreau
30ml fresh orange juice
20ml fresh lime juice
Place all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with plenty of ice.

Using a highball glass, build the cocktail in the order of ingredients listed - Miller's first, then lychee juice and finally the grapefruit

Melt Divine milk chocolate. The best way is in a double boiler, or in a glass bowl set over in a pan of boiling water.
Shake it together with Wyborowa orange and pure vodka, Grand Marnier, creme de cacao and a crushed slice of orange.

15ml Creme de Cacao White
5ml Creme de Menthe White
Rinse a mixing glass filled with ice with the cr eme de menthe and discard.
Add the Stolichnaya and the Creme de Cacao and stir until cold.
Serve in a pre-chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a frozen mint leaf frosted with icing sugar.

Carefully slide the Magnum Classic off the stick and pick off some of the chocolate coating - save for later.
Whizz both the remaining chocolate and ice cream in the blender, then add to the Irish Cream and vodka
Use the remaining Magnum chocolate to garnish

150 ml (1/4 pint) brandy
1 packet Schwartz Mulled Wine Spice, or your own blend of coriander seed, allspice and nutmeg
115 g (4 oz) Demerara sugar
2 oranges, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
Pour the wine, cranberry drink and brandy into a large saucepan. Add the mulled wine sachets and stir well.
Bring to just below boiling point for minutes.
Stir in the sugar, orange and lemon slices.
Remove the sachets and serve piping hot.

Selection of fresh chopped fruits
Lemonade
Mix ml Bundaberg Rum and ml Peach Schnapps into a tall glass.
Add ice, and a selection of fresh chopped fruits such as strawberry, orange, lemon, lime and cucumber.
Stir and top up with lemonade.
Hurricane cocktail
1.5 measure light rum
1.5 measure dark rum
1 measure orange juice
1 measure fresh lime juice
1/4 cup passion fruit juice, or 1 tablespoon passion fruit syrup
1 teaspoon sugar syrup
1 teaspoon grenadine
Cherries with stems, and orange slice to garnish
Ice cubes
Shake the rum, fruit juices, sugar syrup and grenadine together with some ice.
Pour into a tall glass, and add more ice to fill.
Garnish with an orange slice and cherries.
Frozen mango daiquiri
400ml/14fl oz mango juice
200ml/8fl oz white rum
100ml/4fl oz lime juice
4 tsp golden caster sugar
4 glassfuls of crushed ice (about 600ml/1 pint)
Put the mango juice, rum, lime juice, sugar and ice into a blender and whiz together until thick and slushy. Serve in a cocktail glass.
Teacher's Whisky Hot Toddy
50mls Teacher's Whisky
2 teaspoons vanilla sugar
1 pod of green cardamom
Pinch of cinnamon
2 wedges of lemon
1 wedge of orange
37.5mls pressed apple juice
Hot water
Add the cardamom, cinnamon and vanilla sugar to a heat proof glass and gently press the cardamom. Half fill the glass with boiling water then pour in the apple juice and whisky. Squeeze in the lemon and orange then gently stir until the sugar has dissolved then top up with boiling water. If preferred, strain off into a fresh glass and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
African chocolate martini

Combine the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake. Pour into a chilled martini glass.

Juice of 3 limes
3 (75ml) shots of Tequila
2 shots (50ml) of Cointreau
2 large handfuls of crushed ice
Remove the core and roughly chop the apples. Place in a liquidiser with the lime juice and blitz well until smooth. Pour into a container and freeze for at least hours.

50ml/1.7 fl oz Russian Standard Original Vodka
8-10 redcurrants
Juice of half a lime
3 tsp sugar
In a tumbler, muddle the lime juice, sugar and redcurrants. Top the glass up with crushed ice. Add Russian Standard Original Vodka and stir well. Top with extra crushed ice and garnish with a few redcurrants.

3 lime wheels
Pour Mekhong and lime juice into a Collins glass. Add ice and lime wheels. Cover with a shaker tin and shake briefly. Top off with ginger beer and add Bitters. Serve with a straw.

Pour Mekhong and the rest of the ingredients except club soda into a mixing glass. Add ice and shake vigorously for seconds. Strain into a chilled martini-cocktail glass. Top off with club soda.

Muddle pomegranate (saving over a spoon of seeds to garnish) and sugar syrup in a mixing glass. Add remaining ingredients, fill with ice and shake vigorously for seconds and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with remaining pomegranate seeds.

Swirl with a cinnamon stick and leave in the glass. Garnish with a sprig of mint and apple slices

220ml Harveys Bristol cream
500ml Pressed apple juice
6 cloves
50ml vanilla sugar
Slowly warm the Harveys Bristol Cream with the premium pressed apple juice, cloves and ml vanilla sugar in a pan for - minutes to release the incredible flavours
Strain the liquid into a warmed pint/ litre punch bowl

10ml Pain D'Epices (gingerbread syrup)
squeeze of fresh lime
Shake ingredients over ice, double strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a little gingerbread man.

20ml apple juice
2 teaspoons of apricot jam
8 mint leaves
15ml sugar syrup
Place mint leaves into a clean, empty jam jar and gently muddle
Place remaining ingredients into the jam jar
Half fill with crushed ice, put the jam jar lid on and shake vigorously

One litre Merrydown Medium Vintage Cider
Splash of dark rum (optional)
4 cups of fruity herbal tea - orangey flavours go well
1 tbsp soft brown sugar
2 clementines
4 or 5 cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
2 fresh bay leaves
4 cardamon pods
Pour the Merrydown into a large saucepan. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved over a gentle heat. Stud each clementine with the cloves, then cut the fruit in half and add to the pan along with the cinnamon sticks, bay leaves and cardamom pods
Apple Temptation

25ml triple sec
2 dash orange bitters (optional)
Juice of half a lime.
Three raspberries shaken hard with .l of citrus vodka, ml triple sec.

Stir vigorously with ice cold Appletiser and crushed ice

6 tbsp Seville orange marmalade, plus
more to serve
400ml/14fl oz vodka
125ml/4fl oz Cointreau
4 tbsp lemon juice
ice, to serve
Bash cardamom pods in a pestle and mortar until they split. Melt the marmalade in a pan, then whisk in the vodka. Add the crushed pods. Don't boil the mix, simply warm it for a few mins. Leave to infuse off the heat for mins, then strain. Add the Cointreau and lemon juice and chill (or keep in the freezer). Serve in glasses with a little more marmalade in the bottom,ice and a cardamom pod floating on top
Picota Cherry Cordial
500g Fresh Picota cherries, stones removed
250g Caster sugar
250ml Still water
2 ? Pints sparkling water
Place the cherries into a saucepan with the caster sugar and the still water
Bring to ingredients to boil
Leave the mixture to simmer for minutes until the cherries have started to soften
