We take a look through the fabulous and varied looks of 10 women who have shaped the way we think about fashion and style
1. Coco Chanel
Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel re-wrote the rule book when it came to fashion.
She proved critics wrong, and distilled her philosophy into the first global fashion brand responsible for a string of firsts, including the little black dress (1926) and mass produced perfume (Chanel No 5 in 1921).
2. Jackie Kennedy
Jackie O, the all-time trend-setter. Where to start with this style icon?
It wasn't what she wore but how she wore it: matching single colour schemes, paired down glamour and always groomed.
Long before it became fashionable she was wearing jeans with Chanel jackets and picking out new names like Lilly Pulitzer and Jack Rogers sandals, which went straight on the fashion radar.
3. Audrey Hepburn
One of the most famous fashion icons of the last century, her simple yet fabulous sense of style is admired to this day.
She captivated audiences with her slender figure, aristocratic manners and graceful movements, representing not only a new look but also a new femininity.
With her boyish body, pixie haircut and swan neck she complemented everything she wore.
4. Michelle Obama
The first lady of America certainly dresses up politics.
Whether she's sporting a sparkly cardigan, a designer dress or high street bargain, she always stands out.
And we love that she supports young up-and-coming designers.
5. Kate Moss
When it comes to style, this girl will never put foot wrong.
From sequins at a muddy festival to a shift dress on the red carpet, the supermodel disrespects the dress code but gains heaps of style creditability every time.
The most predictable thing about her style is how unpredictable it is. She is without a doubt the trend-setter of our times.
6. Sienna Miller
In 2008 she launched her own fashion label with her sister Savannah (Twenty8Twelve), and is still top of the fashion charts.
Effortlessly cool, and with all those gorgeous dresses she floats about in during the summer, we would give our right arms to have access to her wardrobe.
7. Cheryl Cole
Thanks to her formidable fashion know-how, the pop princess flawlessly puts chic and sexy together, working fab designer frocks, daring on-stage outfits and casual combos.
8. Katy Perry
Best known for her 'out there' fashion choices, from wearing a carousel-inspired frock to a Barack Obama printed number, Katy never ceases to amaze us with her outrageous looks.
It's no surprise when she names stars such as Dita Von Teese and Cyndi Lauper as her style icons.
9. Lady Gaga
Style is all about making fashion your own and Lady GaGa certainly does that.
Whether she's a fashion icon or a disaster we predict a big campaign on the horizon for her in the future. Watch this space...
10. Agyness Deyn
The model of the moment, she has been giving style a shake up with her unique nu-rave look that we can't get enough of.
She's not afraid to clash her colours or be beautiful in braces and chunky boots while her 'rock 'n' roll meets punk' wardrobe is effortlessly pulled off every time.
