Enjoy the natural splendour of Costa Rica exploring rain forests, cloud forests, the jungle canopy and visit an active volcano (on a clear day you can see lava trickling down the slopes). Visit the Monteverde National Park, home to more than 400 exotic bird species, including the rare and beautiful quetzal, macaws and hummingbirds. Discover nesting turtles at the Tortuguero National Park (from July to September), where you can also see other incredible wildlife such as manatee and several species of monkey.
Top tip: Extend your trip and visit the Corcovado Natioanl Park which is home to big cats and hundreds of bird species.
