Review: The Priory Inn, Tetbury, the Cotswolds
'We are getting great feedback from families,' says Tanya, who runs the hotel with her husband. The couple have two young children and as a result know families have unique needs. Yet they remember that parents are people too. 'Parents are loving the fact that they feel like they used to before kids - but are managing to enjoy time with the kids and babies too!'
There are plenty of activities in the area, antiquing (probably best for parents of young babies), country walks, nearby farmers' markets and the Westonbirt Arboretum, to name a few. The Kellys frequently book jazz musicians and singers at the restaurant, so you can take your baby monitor down (they work in the restaurant) and enjoy a night out, right at the hotel. You can even enjoy an in-room massage, performed by a local health and beauty centre. Best of all, if you're looking for ideas, the Kellys have plenty, along with staff to help you arrange for it all. It all fits in with their philosophy that an affordable and enjoyable getaway with the kids needn't be difficult at all.
Kids under 12 stay free in their parents' room and a family room is available as are interconnecting rooms. Look for special deals and packages including activities such as antiquing, spa treatments and passes to local attractions on the hotel's website, theprioryinn.co.uk.
