So now you know all the many benefits that can be had in keeping your body well watered, how exactly do you go about keeping your system topped up?
These days it should be common practice that companies provide employees with cool, fresh drinking water throughout the day. So always make sure you've a good supply near you at all times or for when you take a break.
Picking up a chilled bottle of mineral water on the way to work or at the start of a long journey is always a good idea, especially for air travel, and always remember to have a long glass of water ten minutes before a meal to help you feel full up before you eat.
When eating at home, work or in restaurants it is always a good idea to have plenty of water with your meal - preferably still water unless you want indigestion - and top up your wine or fruit juices with it too, to keep up your levels.
Juicy fruit
Fresh salads and fruit also contain their own supply of water so make sure you always add plenty of these foods to your daily diet.
Good high-water foods noted for their detoxing and flushing properties include celery, cucumber, asparagus, watermelon, beetroot, artichoke and celeriac - so make up snacks of those low, and 0-Point health givers.
Don't allow yourself to feel thirsty as this means your body is already well into the stages of dehydration. Instead, sip at water all day, which is easier and more comfortable than trying to glug back litres of the stuff in one go.
Here is a checklist of ways to saturate yourself with nature's finest health and beauty aid and remember, like shopping and George Clooney - you just can't get enough of it!
Begin the day with a cup of hot water and a slice of lemon - it cleanses from within, sets you up for the day and tastes delicious too.
Drink a glass of water at bedtime - your body loses water as you sleep.
Don't rely on coffee and alcohol to quench your thirst. They act as diuretics and so increase loss of fluids.
Sweet, fizzy drinks and even squash are poor substitutes for pure water - the high sugar content actually increases thirst.
Get over the mid-afternoon tiredness slump with a cool refreshing glass of water - maybe you're running on empty.
When it's hot or even in the chill winter we still lose up to nearly two pints of water a day - so whatever the weather make sure you?re drinking plenty.
When in doubt, let vanity be your guide - water is a natural appetite suppressant so can actually help you to lose weight and what's more, it helps keep the skin young looking and glowing with health too.
Isn't it time you had another glass?
