What are the best gardening courses to take?
I am considering taking a course this year and am keen on horticulture. Have you got any advice?
The March issue of The English Garden (on sale mid February) will feature a huge range of gardening courses from design, garden photography and floristry. The industry of horticulture is vast and varied so there are so many opportunities available.
For a general horticultural course I would suggest the RHS Certificate in Horticulture and for a course held near you visit www.rhs.org.uk. This offers practical and theory and is a great building block for any adult of any age.
If design is your passion then courses are aplenty. You will find online courses at www.my-garden-school.com and this is a sensible solution if you are in full time work or are restricted with travel budgets. You will also find many recreational courses on garden craft, bee keeping and cookery by contacting associations and looking on-line. These more low key one day courses will give you tasters and a great day out.
My advice is to call course providers direct for more information. One thing is for sure – you’ll never regret joining the gardening army.
