Wii Fit blog: We're in this together!

By happy coincidence, the beginning of my Wii Fit journey came at the same time as one of my close friends', Allyson.
And it just so happens, she too has a young child and works part-time. Spooky!
Far from competing with each other (well, not openly anyway!), we have formed something of a Wii Fit support network - swapping stories and discussing how and what we managed to do the previous evening.
As I said, we're not in competition as such, but it does spur me on when I hear that Allyson has, for instance, spent 60 minutes on the Wii Fit when I may have only managed to fit in half an hour.
I've also discovered an application which enables me to be a good Wii Fitter while also keeping up with my favourite TV programmes.
Free Step lets you watch TV while the Wii remote monitors how many steps you're taking on the Wii Board. You set yourself a target and receive regular updates via the remote on how you're progressing.
By the way, I've shed a total of 4lbs since I started. Not spectacular by any means but I feel so much more energised and I never set out to achieve dramatic weight-loss anyway.
More importantly, I'm improving my overall health and fitness while having fun - which is what I've been looking for, for ages!
