I want to work in the environment

by Irene Krechowiecka

question
I have a 2:1 honours degree in Environmental Management and am looking for graduate training schemes/jobs that are related to the environment. Can you help?

answer

There are some good vacancy sources for environmental work on the web, one of the best is Information for Industry's Environment Business Job Link. Vacancies are gathered from around 30 publications and updated twice weekly. They cover areas such as environmental management in industry, environmental monitoring, journalism, campaigning and conservation work. Others to look at include Environmental Data Services and the Green Directory.

Also, take a look at Contaminated Land. The Jobs and Careers section has some useful links that include email notification of vacancies as well as details of discussion groups and recruitment agencies specialising in environmental jobs. The monthly magazine Environment Post has details of voluntary as well as paid work but is only available in printed format. It may be available in your local library or careers centre, subscription details from:
