Cutting your household bills
- What do you pay for your gas, electricity and phone calls? Compare the cost of different suppliers by visiting www.xelector.com You could save loads of money by changing to a new supplier.
- Even if you don't change supplier, make sure you are getting the best rates for your needs.
- Look at paying bills by direct debit. Some companies offer discounts if you pay this way.
- If you choose a combined gas and electricity bill - provided by one supplier - you may get an extra discount, too.
Make the most of any loyalty schemes/coupons offered by shops or credit cards
By joining a store's loyalty scheme or taking out a credit card with a loyalty scheme attached, you'll get points based on the amount you spend on the card. Collect these points and use them to get money off your shopping, or convert them into air miles, or use them to pay for other goods.
If you are a member of some loyalty schemes, you'll sometimes be sent money off coupons or qualify for special deals. Some cards also offer 'cash back' depending on the amount you spend on the card.
