Playing cops and robbers
Ever wanted to do something a bit different, at the same time as making some extra cash? Why not try your hand at playing cops and robbers, and get paid to take part in a police line-up? This extract from the book 'A Bit on The Side: 500 ways to boost your income' by Jasmine Birtles, published by Piatkus priced £10.99, shows you howPolice line-ups
It used to be that you could make about £15 quite regularly taking part in police line-ups. Now, though, thanks to technology, you just get a one-off fee for taking part in a video 'line-up'.
How to do it
Go to your local police station and ask them about being videoed for identity parades. If they think they may need someone who looks like you they will video you (front, sides, etc) and add it to their library. That's pretty much it! Not hard for a tenner.
How much can you make?
A one-off fee of about £10.
Costs
None other than travel to the police station.
Training and qualifications
You don't need training or qualifications.
Pros
This is an easy way of making £10. You don't need to be able to do anything other than stand in a line and, occasionally, read out a phrase or sentence.
Cons
There's less work for women. It could be worrying if witnesses keep picking you out!
