Other ways to invest

Alternative ways to save or invest

Ethical investments
There are many types of ethical investments to allow people to invest in things which match their beliefs or how they want to live their lives. If you are interested in these you should speak to an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). You'll find details of your local IFA in Yellow Pages (www.yell.co.uk). Or visit www.unbiased.co.uk

Alternative investments
This means putting your money into things like paintings, antiques or even fine wine in the hope that the value of these will rise, and you will then be able to sell them at some point in the future and make a profit. Remember though, what you get back is only what someone else thinks it's worth and is willing to pay - so it's very difficult to estimate how much money you would get back in the future. You also really need to be an expert in the relevant field to consider this as a way of investing.
