Dvd
Originally stood for Digital Video Disk, but as movie technology and computer technology have grown to resemble each other more, it now stands for Digital Versatile Disk. This roomy storage system can hold seven times more than a CD-ROM which means enough for a film plus extras, or a very fat encyclopedia. It takes a special drive to play a DVD but a DVD drive will also play CD-ROMs. (Also see CD-ROM and Peripherals)
