Resolution
A measure of how sharp an image will appear on a monitor. Usually it's expressed as a number of dots (pixels) across by a number of dots high. Some common resolutions are 640 x 480, 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768. The higher the resolution, the sharper the image because there are more dots. Also, the smaller the screen, the sharper the resolution, because the dots are smaller. (see Dot pitch and Pixel)
